Far from the slopes there are plenty of possibilities even for those who don't want to strap on their skis. Winter peace, the crunch of the snow under your shoes and the whole area open for exploration.
With a hearty snack in your backpack the hike starts from the “Fischerhäuser” over the Haider Lake to the Faulen Lake. Past St. Martin's Chapel, the path leads across the Zerzer stream to the Brugger hut, which is not farmed.
From Stelivo take the mountain road in the direction of Fragges and past the game reserve. Follow a beautiful path through the forest until you reach a mountain pasture path. The tour is easy to do with snow and winter shoes and leads through a beautiful winter landscape.
From the „Fischerhäuser“along the cross-country ski run, follow the prepared path to Plawenn and Alsack and walk via the hamlet of Ultimo back to Burgusio.
Only two kilometres from the village of Schlinig lies the pride and joy of the local farmers. The Schliniger hut – Planbell hut can be reached by a leisurely walk and is farmed summer and winter.
The winter hiking trail to the Höfer hut starts at the valley station of the Watles lift. Above the timberline the last part of the hike is a little steeper to the alpine pasture. Once you reach the top, you can pamper both your eyes and your palate.
Follow the old cart track in the direction of Rojen and master the ascent to Waldkirchleich Fallierteck. Continue along the forest path to Rojen and hike back through the forest to Pitz.
