Because small things change the world

“Be the change you want to see in the world;” that is why we have thought about how we can protect the environment in our Aparthotel with the help of our guests. Here is what is important to us.

No waste

We do not waste food. Our animals are happy about the surplus bread and vegetable leftovers.

Heating

We heat in a particularly climate-friendly way. Our wood chip heating system and a district heating network powered by wood chips produce far fewer emissions than heating with oil or other fuels.

Massages

For our wellness treatments we use certified natural cosmetics from South Tyrol. High-quality essential oils relax and unwind body and mind.

Electricity

Our 76 kWp photovoltaic system including storage battery allows us to generate a part of our own electricity. South Tyrol is rich in streams and lakes; we benefit from this and get the rest of our electricity from the region.

Charging stations for Tesla and E-cars

We have installed 4 Wall Boxes for your e-cars and focus on soft mobility with the Val Venosta Card.

Waste sorting

We sort our garbage consistently and ask our guests to help us with this, too. You will find information about the waste sorting system in your apartment or room.

Cleaning

You are welcome to book your flat with or without cleaning. If you choose cleaning, the rooms will be cleaned every third or fourth day. Towels are only changed on request. Our staff regularly undergo further training in order to use as little cleaning agent and water as possible. We clean heavy soiling with the Medi-Clean-Tec micro-dry steam system, which saves water and does not use any harsh cleaning agents.

Cosmetics

We choose our cosmetics carefully. They are certified with the Ecolabel Nordic Swan and we rely on refillable products as far as possible.

Bath slippers

Bath slippers are a welcome gift for some guests, while others have no use for them. To avoid unnecessary waste, bathing shoes are therefore only given out on request.

Infinity pool

For the sake of the environment, we disinfect our salt water infinity pool using salt electrolysis. This method is not only kind to the environment, but also avoids irritation of the eyes and dehydration of the skin.

This year, our sustainability efforts were also recognised by the prestigious austrian, tourism related magazine "Connoisseur Circle" with an award in the categories "Nature Hotels" and "Sustainability".

This award recognises our commitment to environmental responsibility and the use of sustainable hospitality practices.

South Tyrol Sustainability Seal - Level 1

In South Tyrol a plaque is given to destinations and accommodation establishments actively committed to a sustainable future: the South Tyrol Sustainability Seal. Based upon the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria, it gives recognition to entities in the tourism industry that ensure the protection of nature and people. Those people who, with concrete measures, tirelessly contribute to making South Tyrol a more sustainable place. The road to sustainability is long. There are, indeed, three Seal’s levels. Each level needs different criteria to be met. The third – which is the highest - corresponds to the GSTC certification and it is thus globally recognized.

By bearing a Level 1 Sustainability Seal, we have taken the first steps towards a sustainable transformation. We have therefore rethought our strategy and planned corrective measures. We calculate our energy, water and CO2 consumption to lessen our impact on the environment. On these premises, we already use renewable energy to a great extent. We avoid cleaning agents containing harmful substances and cut down on the waste we produce. We also encourage our guests to act responsibly.
